1. Service Agreement
By hiring Voltsource Ltd, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms clarify our responsibilities and ensure a smooth working relationship.
2. Estimates and Quotes
All estimates and quotes provided are based on the information given at the time. While we strive to be as accurate as possible, any changes to the scope of work may result in adjustments to the final price.
3. Appointments and Scheduling
We value your time and aim to arrive within the agreed-upon time window. If we're running late or need to reschedule, we'll notify you as soon as possible. Likewise, if you need to reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. For work quoted over £500, a 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance is due on the date specified in the invoice provided. We accept payments via cash and bank transfer. Late payments will incur a 5% fee on the outstanding balance each week (7 days), compounded weekly.
5. Installation Work
- (a)All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671:2022 and any amendments in force at the time of the works.
- (b)All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
- (c)Electrical Installation and Minor Works certificates and Building Regulations notifications issued by Voltsource Ltd cover only those works installed by Voltsource Ltd.
- (d)Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume existing circuits are safe and in adequate condition. Any work required to bring these circuits up to standard will be at an additional cost.
- (e)No addition or alteration will be carried out to rubber-insulated (VIR) or lead-sheathed cables.
- (f)Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, best endeavours will be made to avoid damage and to refit to an acceptable standard. However, employing a specialist fitter may be prudent to ensure a satisfactory reinstatement.
- (g)Unless agreed beforehand, chases to walls will be left unfilled. The final finishing of skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded.
- (h)We will endeavour to undertake installation work to a clean standard. However, additional vacuuming and cleaning down of surfaces should be expected afterwards. Any equipment susceptible to dust damage (e.g., video or computer equipment) must be removed from the work area before our arrival.
- (i)If works are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances on the client's side or by other trades, payment may be requested for the works carried out up to that point. Any additional time and materials required will be charged accordingly.
6. New Consumer Units
- (a)The installation of new consumer units (fuse boards) includes testing to ensure the installation is safe for connection.
- (b)Any faults deemed unsafe must be rectified before reconnection, at an additional cost. These issues will be brought to the client's attention as soon as practical.
- (c)Upgrades to main service bonding to water, gas, or oil supplies may be necessary, especially in properties built before the 1970s. This will be at additional cost unless agreed otherwise.
7. Electrical Safety Checks
- (a)Full access to the board is required, and obstructions must be removed before testing.
- (b)The board location must be communicated prior to our visit to determine if ladders are needed.
- (c)PAYG meters must have sufficient credit for testing.
- (d)Any damaged fixed fittings must be identified prior to testing.
- (e)All sensitive equipment must be unplugged before testing.
- (f)Circuit identification must be clear for an efficient inspection.
- (g)If the installation is deemed unsafe, we will stop work and discuss remedial action.
8. Exclusions
- (a)Clearing/moving furniture to provide access is not included in the quote. If access is restricted, a minimum charge will apply.
- (b)While we attempt to plug electrical items back in, we are not responsible for any losses due to items not being reconnected.
- (c)Removal and disposal of rubble, materials, and general waste is not included. Old fittings and wiring may be removed at our discretion.
9. Pricing
- (a)Prices assume continuous and unhindered site access.
- (b)Fixed price quotes will be provided where possible; otherwise, an estimated cost will be given.
- (c)Costs assume standard working hours (Monday to Friday). Work outside these hours may incur additional charges.
- (d)A full working day consists of 6 hours plus 1-hour lunch. A half-day is 4 hours. Hourly rates apply if work is under 4 hours.
- (e)Additional work not covered in the quote will incur extra charges for time and materials.
- (f)Accepting our quote or estimate means you accept these terms and conditions.
10. Warranty and Repairs
- (a)We stand by the quality of our work. Our services come with a 12-month warranty on labor and materials provided by us.
- (b)This warranty covers defects in workmanship, faulty materials supplied by Voltsource Ltd, and electrical system failures due to installation issues.
- (c)Exclusions:
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or alterations made by anyone other than Voltsource Ltd.
- Issues arising from natural disasters or external factors beyond our control.
- Work performed by other electricians or third parties after the initial installation.
11. Health and Safety
Our team follows strict health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Please inform us of any specific hazards or requirements on your property before we begin work.
12. Liability
While we take every precaution, Voltsource Ltd is not responsible for any damage caused by pre-existing issues such as faulty wiring or hidden defects in your property. Our liability is limited to the work we directly perform.
13. Access to Property
Clients must provide access to work areas, including arranging for keys or codes if they cannot be present.
14. Cancellations
Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will incur a cancellation fee:
- Quotes under £500: 50% of the total estimate.
- Quotes over £500: £250 cancellation fee.
15. Privacy
We respect your privacy and only use personal information to provide services and communicate about your project. We do not share information with third parties without your consent.
16. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the local courts.
